I have a hack to cure that frustration! Plus. it’s quick, effective, and cheap!

Thanks for info Pat will try it
Let us know how it goes!
simple solutions work Best, thanks for sharing this Pat!
No problem!
Does that not interfere with hook exposure on the strike?
I haven’t noticed a difference in hook up ratio. But I do have a tendency to set the hook pretty hard!
Great hint thanks
Thanks Michael!!
Not a bad idea.
Give it a shot a let us know how it works for you!
Ha almost sounds like what the old banjo minnow was rigged it had a screw lock hook that slid over the hook point then the bait was screwed into the screw lock sideways great bait while I still have some I don’t really use them anymore I also found the new zman chinlock hooks are great because they have a plastic bead that after you rig the bait on the hook the plastic bead slides down pushing the plastic bait in place keeping the lure from sliding it also has a tiny barb that holds the front of the bait from sliding as well have used these hooks when they first came out about 4 months ago with great results but your idea works I know just fine thanks for the tip and all you do😀👍
I should also mention on the banjo minnow a rubber band was attached to tge hook point then stretched and slid in a tiny gap on the hook eye this made it weedless
What I have done is a dab of super glue, several wraps of braid or dental floss, then dab super glue. Works well, but I like Pat’s idea better having not to manage super glue. Already ordered the rubber bands.
A small piece of cut up silicone tube works well also.
Brilliant idea, Pat. Thanks for sharing
It seems there is a double-edged blade here. If you are seedless the hook point is embedded into the lure top, the rubber band prevents the lure from sliding down. Won’t this also resist the lure from sliding down during a strike and, therefore, reduce the number of hook-ups and/or resist the depth of hook penetration?
I only use this trick when the bait will not stay in place anymore after a few fish have been caught on it. The lure will fall down without issue with the band. If the lure is new and will stay in place on its own, there’s no need to do this.
Good catch though. Thanks for watching
