Not sure how this runaway boat lost its driver, but one thing is for certain…

This police officer needs to try out for the next James Bond.

Certainly a day on the water that guy won’t forget, and I’m certain he got some mad respect from his fellow officers back at the station.

It’s tarpon time!

Normally the best tarpon videos we’ve seen have come out of Florida… from Boca Grande to the Florida Keys to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area during the mullet run, Florida is definitely the tarpon capital of the world.

But today, we came across an awesome tarpon video out of Mexico.

These anglers went out with the Mendoza Fly Company and fished for tarpon in Ascension Bay, Mexico.

Check out the sick drone footage of them hooking into a tarpon, not to mention some of the other amazing “by catch” they landed while tarpon fishing in Mexico.

Looks like a must-do fishing trip!

Not only did our friends Rob Chapman (from Outdoors 360) and Sam Root (from Salty Shores) capture some amazing drone footage of a massive school of redfish, but they also captured some sick aerial strikes!

Pa-POW!

Because the only thing cooler than seeing a school of bull reds is actually seeing someone catch one!

Watch as Capt. Jon Lulay, Rob Chapman, and Blair Ashton have an awesome time tossing spoons into this monster school of redfish while Sam Root films from above.

So cool to see how these fish react to a fast moving lure when they are cruising in a school.

The redfish that Rob caught in the video came in at 44-inches long and weighed 32 pounds. What a beast!

The crew over at Le Cut Studio in Australia had their drone flying to get some surfing footage and ended up finding a seal!

Check out the amazing aerial footage from Bondi Beach as a seal has a tough time getting food with a pod of bait fish that are all certainly aware of the seal.

Funny how they don’t seem to mind the surfers so much.

At any rate, awesome footage from our friends down under.

What an amazing R/C crash caught on film!

And is it just me or does this remote control electric powered plane fly pretty freaking high?

I kept waiting for a big Delta jet to go zooming by at 10,000 feet…

Anywho, if you thought the footage of this R/C plane flying all over Cape Range National Park is Western Australia, just wait until you see what happens when the plane loses course and crashes into the ocean!

The spiraling flight into the sea had me on seat’s edge… I felt like it was one of those 3D movies where I was in the cockpit.

And then there is some pretty amazing footage of what animals are hanging around the reef once the plane lands.

Turtles, sharks, reef fish, and more!

According to the video, the electric powered remote control plane was completely destroyed, but the “Black Box GoPro” tells the story in High Def!

So do you agree or disagree with this statement that is made in this short video below?

That fishing today and into the future will never be as good as it used to be in the “good old days” past.

If so, then you need to watch this video.

The fishing fanatics over at Cold Collaborative do a great job of outlining the issues we all face as anglers and lovers of the ocean. They even have a Kickstarter campaign going in order to fund a full video on this issue.

And did you know about the three garbage clusters in the ocean the size of Texas? What the heck is wrong with us!

Here is the mission of this group Cold Collaborative direct from their website:

The issue of pollution surrounding the Pacific is a symptom of our lifestyle as a general population. For the sake of our future sustainability, we need to address the problem on multiple fronts.

Here at Salt Strong, we come across a TON of fishing videos…

Some are good, some are great, and some are nothing short of amazing.

Well, this video below from Dustin Dykes and Savage Charters (with Capt. Chris Law) fits in the amazing bucket.

As you will see below, it is nothing short of every inshore angler’s dream… to see and catch tons of inshore fish. And they didn’t just capture one species on film… their drone footage captured just about every inshore Florida fish imaginable.

In fact, the worst part of this video was all of the time it took me to agree on a headline for the post. There was just so much over the top footage that I couldn’t decide on what to focus on!

For instance, in this amazing Boca Grande video, you’ll get:

A bird’s eye view of how many fish (and how they move) on a Florida grass flat
What happens when a shark comes up to a school of tarpon (the drone footage of this is epic)
And a whole lot more!

If this doesn’t make you want to fish Boca Grande, then nothing will.

When PENN Fishing wants to show off a new fishing reel to journalists, they don’t just call a press meeting and do a quick presentation…

Instead, they take some of the world’s top fishing and outdoor journalists to Crocodile Bay in Costa Rica to test the new PENN Clash reels out for themselves.

And from the looks of this amazing fishing footage, PENN didn’t spare any expense in making sure these journalists had the time of their lives with lots of screaming PENN Clash Reels!

I can only imagine this new line of reels from PENN is going to get some high grades in the magazines and editorials…

It was just a matter of time before an angler with a drone got creative enough to do this…

Big Game Drone Fishing!

And not just any big game, these guys go after longtail tuna from the beach.

I imagine innovative videos like this are going to open the door for some special clips or attachments for anglers that “drone fish”.

In fact, I’d be willing to be in the future you will see drones helping anglers catch fish just like you see kites being used for catching fish.

Although a drone is certainly more expensive than a kite, it gives you so much control, visibilty below (to scout the fish out and drop the bait in the strike zone), and it doesn’t require wind to work!

I guess time will tell…
