I think fishing points are a key but considering the water temperature based on wind was helpful.
Great footage. Its so hard to find the zone though. in the footage there were tons of good places and yet only some of them held the fish.
The spots were all dead giveaways once we got there because of the bait. So step #1 was to find good looking spots with maps at home. Step #2 was to look for signs of life when we got to the spots. Even on the island example, all of the bait and birds were on the point (making it very clear where the 90/10 zone was). All the drone did was confirm what our eyes had already seen.
Joe, How do you find that 90/10 zone in these areas without a drone? Like you mentioned in your video, “It all looks like a good place to fish, but all the fish were schooling in a very specific position”. Hard to find that exact position without a drone when the whole area looks like a good spot to fish. I love Salt strong and all that you guys do, but this particular video has left me feeling a bit defeated.
Hey Michael, definitely don’t get discouraged. 100% of these 90/10 zones can easily be found using map layers on Smart Fishing Spots. A drone is NOT recommended (and will actually hurt your results). If you found an area on the map layers where everything looks good, the next step is looking for signs of life when you get there. In every one of these drone examples, the bait was all very visible in the exact spots where the fish were. The drone just confirmed what we saw with our own eyes.
Love this study and explanation of where the fish are!
Thank you, Dan
Thanks Joe for sharing such a very informative video
Appreciate the kind words, Terry!
