When you’re on a tough bite, one of the worst things that can happen is to lose a fish when you finally get a hit. But when the reason you lost it was your fault? That’s a gut-punch!
I ran into this scenario recently, and setting up the wrong rigging was costly. Check out the video to see what went wrong and how a quick fix turned the day around.

Key to Success
- Match lure size to the bait in the area. Now that the fall season is starting, bigger lures are more productive.
- Match your lure to the proper hook size! When your hook is too small for the lure, you can’t get a proper hookset and you’ll lose fish.

I know I have said this before in another one of your reports but I’m surprised you didnot follow the jig and weedless hook chart considering you coaches probably are the ones who created it to begin with 🤔
We’re not perfect, I got lazy with swapping out hooks. Lesson learned!
This explains a lot and I’ll now double-check my hook size. Thanks for the video and info.
You’re welcome!
Thanks for the suggestion Tony I am headed to the shop page for some 4/0 as I have a ton of 3/0 4/0 probably would work better with the bombers also Great video Thanks
You’re welcome Terry! yes a 4/0 would be the better choice for those bigger 5 inch baits.
