We need more of these live fishing videos! Always enjoy them. So, it seemed the bite was slow, although you saw some nice redfish- would you just keep trolling around in that area? Or would you go move several miles to a complete different area? I often find myself flying around pine island and honestly burning too much gas. Do you recommend staying in one general area and covering that area ? Or moving to completely different spot? Thanks
If there was not any food (pinfish, mullet, pilchards, etc.), I would have left for another spot within the first 10 minutes. But we were seeing a lot of food, so we kept searching around that island. After the filming ended, we hit the other section of the island with some wind exposure, and we caught a couple redfish and a snook.
Once I find a zone with life, I’ll often stick around for at least an hour to try different depths or structure spots within the zone. If no action doing that, I’ll pick up and go to the next zone from my pre-trip plan.
Thanks!
Doubt very much if I’ll be power fishing this week or next come Sat night my area of florida jacksonville that is is getting its first cold front with low temps on the high 50s and highs in the 70s I imagine the water will chill down quite a bit from it the water was about 77 degrees when I fished last Fri still plenty warm for fish to be active but who knows this cold front might drop it to the 60s and if it does there goes the mullet run but oh well thats fishing for you because it’s never perfect and never will be for that matter just have to go when you can stand hope for the best
It’ll be nice to feel some cooler weather for a change. I’m hoping it’ll turn on the redfish bite.
