Last week, I went on a Kayak Tow Fishing Trip to Ozello, FL with Insider Member Darin OBrien.
Never had I ever been towed out to a fishing spot on my kayak before!

Equipment Used On This Trip:
Early Morning Setup (1 snook caught and 1 big fish lost):
- TFO Pro-S – 7’6″ Medium Power
- Daiwa Fuego LT 2500
- PowerPro – 10 lb
- Ande Monofilament – 20 lb
- Slam Shady Bomber rigged on Hoss Helix Hook 4/0 with 1/8th oz
- Scent: Dr. Juice Inshore Slam Scent
Mid Morning Setup (1 snook, 4 trout, 1 redfish, 2 snapper)
- Rod: Custom Mud Hole
- Reel: Daiwa BG MQ – 2500
- Line: 10 lb J-Braid 8 Grand – Gray
- Leader: 20 lb Ande Monofilament
- Lure: Prototype 4″ paddletail rigged on Hoss Helix Hook 3/0 with 1/8th oz
- Scent: Dr. Juice Inshore Slam Scent

Conclusion
Ozello is NOTHING like fishing around St. Pete/Tampa!
But it is always an adventure and learning experience fishing in a new area.

I don’t have a trailer for the yak (rides in the back of the truck), but I think it would be too long and interfere with the boat trailer. I might figure it out some day …
