Going fishing Tommrow VA Hampton roads area just signed up tonight out of excitement 😭
We’re honored to have you in the Insider Club Family! Hope you have a blast out on the water today,
Hey, thank you, hope to have better results with this but I’m having a big problem, I can’t keep my shrimp alive. I caulked the drain plug in my livewell and thought that might be the problem so started using a small ice chest, all plastic using hush bubbles and cleaned with salt and 100 shrimp dead in about an hour, I would appreciate any advice you can give, I’ve tried everything I can think of, thanks
It appears as if you’re putting too many shrimp into a bucket… anything over 2 to 3 dozen in a bait bucket puts them at risk of not having enough oxygen since the space is not big enough.
If you are in need of that many shrimp and don’t have more buckets to spread them out in, another tip is to get them in a cooler environment. Here’s a test from a while back where we put shrimp in a cooler with just wet newspaper for an hour, and they all lived: https://www.saltstrong.com/articles/keep-shrimp-alive/
Hello, is there a video to show how to pick the best surf fishing locations?
Here are some videos that show helpful tips on finding the top spots for catching fish in the surf… since we’re starting to get cold snaps, I included the Winter lesson below in case you go after a cold snap… otherwise, the Fall tutorial would be the one to go by.
Fall: https://www.saltstrong.com/articles/beach-fishing-in-the-fall/
Winter: https://www.saltstrong.com/fishing-tip/surf-fishing-in-winter-for-pompano-whiting-bluefish/
How do I use the location
The location icon is the small arrow, and it’ll center the screen at your location when viewing on desktop, and it’ll show an icon on the map for your location when viewing on the app.
Let me know if you’re referring to something else or if you have any questions.
Just joined from Oak Island NC.. how do you get the app
Welcome to the Insider Club Family, Jason. The Smart Fishing Spots app can be downloaded directly from the main app stores… links to the Apple & Google stores are in the “Step 2” section above.
All you’ll need to do is download the app, and then log in to it with your email and Insider Club password.
Thank you
Hello and good to meet everyone here. Currently living in Harrisburg area in PA, originally from the RDU area in NC for over 30 yrs. I fly fish the area, Yellow Breeches, LaTort, Susquehanna for anything I can fool with a fly and started to use my spinning rod along with the fly rod nowadays. I recently did a half day charter in the Tampa Bay and now have a new addiction. Looking forward to learning from everyone and making new friends.

Welcome to the Insider Club Family, Roger. I’ll be sure to do some videos on fly fishing this winter because it is my favorite season for getting them on fly.
Hope I’m in the correct place. Just joined. Trying to find a boat owner that might be interested in a fishing buddy too help share cost and work.
Any suggestions
Thanks, Marty
