Pat, I tried the smart spot app on the water this past Friday. On your video it shows your location as a dot on the map. What setting do you use to show your current location while on the app? The reason I ask is because my app does not. I would switch to Google maps and is shows rhe blue dot live, not so with the fishing help. What am I doing wrong?
Dale, great question.
If you look on the screen to the right, you’ll see a small arrow. Press that and you’ll see that red and blue dot come up to mark your current location
Let me know if that did it for you.
No, nothing like that on my screen. I would send you an screenshot but I can’t figure it out on this reply screen. Maybe send me your email and I can do it that way?
Well pat like I have said before I will NEVER again totally rely on the smart spots app to really help me find fish because I have found in the past it to be very inaccurate especially in going by tge spots that are supposed to be the best in the area to hold fish many times not just once or twice have I found that alot of the spots that I have caught fish in were not even listed as poor in fact most were not even marked at all and alot of the spots that were marked as either great or hot I couldn’t buy a hit there let alone catch a fish there even after fishing the area using the exact same baits and techniques it’s really kind of upsetting and disappointing because if a newbie joins this club and then gets excited because he or she thinks that the smart spots app is going to turn them into an expert angler they are sadly terribly totally misguided in reality I believe that when the app first came out there should of been a disclaimer that should of been mentioned along with the app explaining that the app should not be totally followed to the letter and that experience and perseverance are really the only things that over time will make one a better more consistant angler and NO computor generated app or idea will EVER take the place of that thats why I alot of the times make so many negative comments because I hate to see false hope given just for the simple reason of making money by having more and more people joining the club I will always admit this is a great club because if it wasn’t I wouldn’t of spent my hard earned money in not only becoming a member back in 2017 but then a life member in 2018 but in reality think about it it’s a buissness and ALL buissnesses are in the market to make money and obviously 2 brothers that were before founding the club making 6 figure salaries I seriously doubt would take a payout that would not let them live at least to the most part a somewhat same affordable comfortable life style bottom line I just don’t like saying things that really are not the whole truth and saying an app is going to get it done is definatly not the case sorry just saying🤔🤨
So let me understand your point. I am a “newbie” and have just stated to get acquainted with the information available on this site. So far I am very impressed and have learned a few tricks that I will incorporate into my current ways of fishing. I had no idea that I was supposed to rely 100% on the Smart Spots fishing app to find fish! I thought the idea was to use it as a TOOL to help me find better places to fish. Did I read that wrong?
You sir are lucky you have that attitude because alot of newbies donot like everything electronic now days people rely more on them then just plain common sence and like I said experience I wasn’t trying to say not to use the app just don’t rely on it like you would let’s say your motor to get you from fishing spot to fishing spot because like everything manmade it does have flaws and is not perfect and me being a life member since 2018 and a regular member since 2017 i know that although the app can help me experience and common sence knowledge of fishing has gotten me much more results then anything electronic whether it be an app or looking at a map while they all do help im just saying no one should rely on electronics like good old fashioned experience and perseverance and while practice never makes anything perfect it sure will improve your catches the more time your on the water I hope this clears things up bottom line I just don’t believe in advertising something like if you don’t use it you will fail at fishing thats all goodluck and godbless
