You can now fish deep structure with the Power Prawn USA while maintaining weedless properties.
Better yet, you don’t have to waste time worrying about the hook-up ratio.
We’ve been testing different kinds of weedless jigheads for months and finally crafted the ultimate design.
There are a couple of different size options as well.
For both the larger and smaller size Power Prawn USA lures, we have a 1/4 oz. and a 1/2 oz. options.
However, more sizes are on the way.
If you are fishing in 3-15 feet of water, then these jigheads are the perfect match.
Lately, I’ve been bouncing this presentation around bridges for snook, grouper, and even sheepshead.
In many cases, I’ve actually let my lure drift too far into a piling and that is no longer a concern with these jigheads.
Simply guide the lure around the piling and it will avoid the snag.
Most of the time, the fish are right up against that piling so the closer you can get without getting snagged means a greater opportunity to catch fish.
The hook on these jigheads is a traditional worm hook that’s been beefed up a bit.
The jighead at the top is a football shape to prevent rolling so the shrimp tail is facing up.
When you begin to work the lure back to you, the tail will slightly point up and appear very natural.
How To Rig Lures On These Jigheads
Start off by inserting the hook through the middle of the head of the shrimp.
Pop the hook out on the bottom side of the shrimp about a half-inch down.
Then thread the shrimp over the hook shank and onto and over the hook keeper.
The final step is to line the hook up with the shrimp lure to make sure it sits properly.
Slide the hook into the underbelly slot of the lure, and push it gently through the lure and out the other side.
Now you’ve got the perfect lure for fishing around deepwater structure.

Is a snug knot ok for these, since the heads have a little give, or still go with a loop knot like a regular jig head?
Good question Mark R., was it ever answered, loop knot or Paloma’s knot
I was excited to buy the 1 oz for nearshore, but it seems like they are not listed.
The mold for that is in its way. But unless you’re fishing in 60+ ft of water, the 3/4 oz will work great.
I was fishing a 30 ft reef with the 1/2 oz weedless football jigs yesterday and had a banner day catching cobia while bouncing power prawns along the bottom.
Already ordered some, can’t wait to use them.
We can’t wait to see what you catch with them.
These are going to be great! I was hoping y’all could do something like this, this have become one of my favorite jigheads.
So glad to see that you like these new jigheads!
This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for, and I already placed my first order! I can’t wait to post in the community about how these work for the average fisherman LOL.
So glad to see that you ordered some of these new jigheads… you will certainly not be disappointed in how they perform.
