On-The-Water Action

I first started in a little bayou area and slowly worked my way in.

Using the Dart Spin, I got my first hit of the day but I didn’t set the hook quickly enough.

So I put the PowerPole down and back up a bit to see if I could spark a bite.

But that proved to be a lost cause as I couldn’t trigger anything after that initial bite.

I pushed further on to see if I could find areas with higher concentrations of fish.

The second area I checked out was super dark, stained, and muddy.

Those are prime conditions for the Gold Digger Mulligan.

This is where I saw the most fish activity with redfish digging in the mud all around me and baitfish in the area as well.

All I did was add some Dr. Juice scent to the lure and that was all it took for a STRIKE!

That one beautiful redfish was all I could find in that muddy area so I pushed out and tried some docks on the way out.

But there wasn’t much action there.

However, it helped us narrow down areas where the fish might be.

Redfish typically will be tucked up close to the grass lines during the springtime.

So I ditched the docks and started casting as close as I could to tall grass on the shoreline.

The wind picked up a bit so I made the switch to the Slam Shady Mulligan which casts a mile and can be used in ANY situation.
