It’s lure review time!
I love Chasebaits’ Flick Prawn and Crusty Crab, so I decided to give their paddletail a try.
I’ve used it a couple of times on the water and caught some nice fish with it, so I put together this review for you.
In this video, you’ll learn:
- The specs of this lure
- Why it’s good for dirty water
- How to rig it for more strikes
- And more
Check it out below!

The particular lure I’ve been using is the 3″ paddletail in blood gold color.
It has a black back, clear belly, and red and gold flakes in it.
What I like most about this lure is that it has lots of ribbing, which gives it extra vibration in the water.
This makes it great for dirty water where fish are hunting by feel and not sight.
As far as rigging them goes, I like rigging them on the Owner TwistLock hook, which lets you rig it weedless.
Have you tried this lure?
What did you think?
Let me know down in the comments!

Ha yea Tony i saw those lures advertised in my fl sportsman mag about a month back i knew chasebaits was going to start making other baits besides crabs and shrimp it was only a matter of time but if they are anything like the flickprawn shrimp they will be a real killer bait right now though money is a little tight now im saving up for a new truck because mine is giving me alot of headaches in its 16th year an 04 Nissan frounteer plus being furloughed from my last job for the last 6 months hasn’t helped either good thing I’m a retired navy veteran or no money would be coming in but it’s only enough to pay the bills and a little extra afterwards that I have to budget anyways thanks for the review and all you do😁
Sorry to hear that Steven! My truck has been giving me issues recently as well. Just about to hit 250k miles on it. May be time for a replacement soon as well.
Hey Tony………there’s so many paddletails on the market, including several of the ribbed models, so it’s difficult knowing which one to choose. I’ve tried many and will stick with the ZMan elastech product.
Definitely a lot to choose from and everyone has their go-to! Just like to share whats out there.
Are these made from the 10x material or are they the regular old fashioned plastic? Looks like they were easy to twist on.
They are a standard soft plastic, but still a bit more durable than most. They rig up very easily on the twistlock hooks.
