Are you 100% satisfied with how many fish you catch?
If so, congrats! You can skip this article and read about what a botched prostate exam has to do with fishing.
But if you want to stop getting skunked, catch more fish, and catch BIGGER fish, then you need to check out the best online fishing club out there…
Here’s the deal:
Some people catch a lot of fish.
You know those guys.
They consistently win tournaments…
Their Instagram or Facebook page is full of pictures with HUGE fish…
And they’ve never posted a picture of a sunset.
Ever.
Then there are the other guys.
You don’t really know them as well, because they almost never post pictures of big fish…
And although they do post pictures of sunsets…
You never see them on the leaderboard in tournaments.
Instead, they’re reading about the hottest new lure…
Scouring YouTube videos and fishing magazines looking for the one trick that can turn their luck around…
And they’re silently scrolling in awe of other people’s fish in Facebook fishing groups or other online fishing clubs.
Does this sound familiar?
If you’re squirming in your seat because this sounds like you, then check this out:
There are three things that separate the guys who catch lots of fish from those who wish they did:
- The guys who catch a lot of fish know fish trends
- The guys who catch a lot of fish have a network
- The guys who catch a lot of fish plan their trips strategically
If you want to know how you can make the transformation from the guy who posts pictures of sunsets to the guy who posts pictures of big redfish, snook and trout, watch the video below.

Do You Know The Fish Trends?
A lot of people say you need to think like a fish.
The truth is, fish don’t really “think”…
They react.
Fish are cold-blooded, meaning they can’t control their body temperature.
If the water is too cold, they’ll move to find warmer water.
Typically, shallow muddy bottom and wind-protected shorelines are warmer than, say, an exposed body of water with a sandy bottom.
Knowing this, if you fish in the winter, you’re much more likely to find fish near wind-protected shorelines with a shallow muddy bottom (think backwater creeks).
And in the summer, when the water is too hot, they’ll move to find cooler water.
One thing about warmer water is that it has less dissolved oxygen than cooler water.
So when it’s hot out, they’re looking for cooler water with more oxygen, and here’s where they find it:
- Inlets and passes. Inlets and passes have lots of current, which run more oxygen through a fish’s gills.
- Grass beds. Grass beds give off oxygen.
- Areas with a light-colored or sandy bottom. The light-colored sandy bottom doesn’t hold as much heat as dark colored bottom.
- Deeper water. The sun has less of an impact on heating deeper water, so you want to look for water deeper than three feet.
- Early mornings are also cooler than the middle of the day, since the water has been cooling off all night.
Just knowing trends like this will help you find feeding fish more consistently, and in the Insider Club we’re constantly talking about the current trends, helping our members catch more fish.
Do You Have A Network?
I interviewed Derek Engle the other day about how he wins so many tournaments.
(If you haven’t heard of Derek before, he’s the epitome of the guy who always wins tournaments and posts pictures of big fish.)
One of the things he said has helped him be so successful all over the state is his network.
Before he fishes an area, he always calls a couple of buddies to see where the fish are being caught, and what they’re being caught on.
Now, Derek has been winning tournaments for years and people are lining up to be part of his network.
For us mere mortals it’s a little harder…
Unless you’re part of the Insider Club.
We have thousands of anglers from Texas to Florida to North Carolina who all share the same goal of wanting to catch more fish and helping others do the same.
If you want instant access to this incredible network, join the Insider Club now.
And no, this isn’t like other online fishing clubs where people are belittling each other or blurring out the background in their fish pictures.
This is a community of thousands of anglers working together towards the same goal (and sharing their exact spots!).
Do You Know How To Plan Your Fishing Trips?
Another thing that separates those who catch a bunch of fish from those who don’t is how they plan their fishing trips.
The guys who catch a lot of fish talk with their network, look at the trends, look at the conditions, and then use that intel to find where the fish are likely to be feeding.
Sound like a lot of work?
It can be!
When you think about looking at the tides, wind, temperature (both the day you’re fishing and the previous days), barometric pressure, and moon phase, it’s easy to get overwhelmed.
But what if there was a simple tool that did all that for you?
Let me introduce the Strike Score.
Strike Score takes all of the information needed to calculate how good the fishing is likely to be and spits out a simple number to help you decide when to go (see the picture above).
And not only does the Strike Score help you decide when to go, but the thousands of fishing reports (each of the pins on the map below) in the Insider Club help you decide where to go.
Conclusion
If you want to catch more (and BIGGER!) fish, then you need to do these three things:
- Know the trends
- Have a network
- Know how to pre-trip plan
The easiest way to knock out all three is to join the Salt Strong Insider Club by clicking here.

Most of my fishing is in Puerto Rico how can the club help me
I surf fish almost exclusively… Hatteras and Ocracoke. How will the club help me?
If you’re targeting redfish, seatrout, or flounder, then you’ll get some great value from the Club. If not, then you’ll likely need to wait until we expand the focus to other species like pompano, stripers, etc.
What about guys that don’t have a boat -guys that are fishing from the beach, banks (like at San Louis Pass), or jetties and piers. How does the insider club help them?
Hey John,
Great question. Only 60% of our members own boat. The other 40% are kayak anglers and wade fishermen. The club has 3 parts. One, is using Trends to find the 90/10 zone (where the feeding fish are). This applies to everyone trying to catch fish regardless if you’re in a boat, kayak, or wading boots. The whole finding good spots is even more critical for wade anglers because they can’t cover as much ground so it’s critical to pick good spots (based on trends). Two, the club saves you money on all of your tackle with the 20% off discounts and a consumer-reports like review system where we go test out all the top products and report back to our members what is the best value. Finally, the third piece of the club is the community where we all share fishing reports, what’s working now, and even do meet-ups. Hope to see you in the club!
