The Mistakes
If your lure isn’t at the right depth, especially during winter when fish are hugging the bottom, you’re missing opportunities. Add mismatched gear—a cheap rod with a flashy reel—and you’re losing sensitivity and power where it matters most. And let’s not forget the biggest trap: heading to your “trusted spots” without checking the trends. Conditions change, and sticking to old habits often leads to wasted time and empty lines.

Agreed tackle location and fish depth are very important in finding as well as catching fish but usually with the more experience one has those problems become less and less prevalent but maybe thats why it’s called fishing and only catching when it happens because NOTHING is gaurenteed even you guys who own the club and literally fish for a living know that some days even if EVERYTHING is planned right the trends are or I should say predicted to be spot on in fact the fish can be seen right there in front of you sometimes you can throw everything but the kitchen sink at them and scratch every single hair off your head trying to figure out why but the fish just don’t and will not hit maybe not even look at it because gentleman that’s life and it doesn’t matter what we think or do sometimes it just simply isn’t enough and that’s a fact jack!!!🤨🤔
