- The 90/10 Zone: 90% of feeding fish are concentrated in just 10% of the water. Find these “hotspots” and you’ll dramatically increase your chances of success.
- Structure is Key: Fish are ambush predators. Look for areas with docks, oyster bars, seagrass, potholes, and other structures where fish can hide and hunt.
- Online Maps are Your Friend: Use online maps and tools like Smart Fishing Spots to locate structure and potential 90/10 zones from home, saving you valuable time on the water.
- Ditch the Live Bait (Sometimes): While live bait has its place, lures offer greater freedom, control, and the ability to cover more water.
- The Magic Color: Scientifically proven to take on the color of the water, mimicking natural baitfish. Add some gold or silver flash for extra attraction.
- Scent Matters: Use scent on your lures to give yourself every advantage, especially on tough fishing days.
