Haha. You’d be surprised how often Deeks uses lures. He’s the definition of a Complete Angler for sure. He knows when (and how) to use live bait, cut bait, lures, and fly.

Thank you guys! However, I live in a small, highly pressured, world renown spot for snook and they are smart about being caught 23 1/2 hours a day. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks for all you do for us!
Same here, SW florida I have never been able to do that well with artificial compared to live bait, i will get a lot of follows but the snook never commit. Here in NC i can use artificials all day long for reds, trout, flounder but when im down in Marco its live bait or nothing
There are plenty of great anglers who live bait fish, and they don’t spend an eternity catching it most days. Even though I’m an artificial bait enthusiast, I recognize the extreme bias in this club for using it. To me, the best anglers are those who can catch big fish of many different species, and are knowledgeable about different types of fishing and methods. In other words, well rounded and not pigeonholed.
Amen! This is the entire point of the podcast and message. The best anglers (aka the Complete Anglers) know how to use lure and live bait.
I’d be using live bait then. The point of the podcast was to not be held hostage to ONLY knowing how to use live bait. But we use live bait frequently when it’s needed.
