Get Slam Shady 2.0 Paddletails
If you’re looking for an excellent lure and jighead combo for winter, look no further than the Slam Shady 2.0 rigged on the Z-Man Trout Eye Jighead.
The small profile of the 2.0 paddletail mimics shrimp on the bottom or even small baitfish like shad or mullet.
The oversized eye on the jighead is almost a beacon for redfish to key in on and locate your bait.
This setup works time and time again and I ALWAYS have it rigged up on a rod with me on every trip.

Great post. I aways have a trout eye jig and slam shady 2.0 on a rod. No redfish in my area north of Miami but catch lots of jacks, barracuda, snook, snapper, lady fish, grouper. You name it. Even had a shark about 6 feet long follow it while trolling. They work great for trolling. Getting ready to buy my second 100-pack as I’ve gone thru the first one.
Look forward to trying the mulligan version coming out too.
It’s definitely always tied on my rod! The Mulligan is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well. Good luck on your next trip!
Thank for that information,I have never caught anything on an artificial lure but I will keep trying.
Anytime Johnny! This is a great time of year to try them!
Thanks Richard. I always use this setup on one of my rods. I fish the SS 2.0 about 80 – 90 % of the time. I use an Owner twist lock 1/8 oz 3/0 also. Thanks for reinforcing my choice
Absolutely Terry! I catch hundreds of fish every year on that exact combo!
Thank you for all the information, it is so helpful. I am heading down to the gulf after Christmas for a month, and am trying to learn how to fish in the winter. Thanks again for all you do.
Absolutely Brad! The basics are what catches fish time and time again. Good luck down there!
