I fish in Delacroix la and Houma la areas. How can saltstring help me in these areas? If I was fishing in FL areas I’d feel more confident in becoming a member but not sure if it help in la as much. Thanks

Hi Joe. The Smart Fishing Spots application is very well done and a nice addition to the resources from Salt Strong. Great job. I am experiencing a challenge trying to decide on locations because the prediction of the Smart Spots keeps changing when I zoom in closer to an area. I live in Homosassa and I am looking at areas near Ozello (if that matters). With the view set for a wide area, I see several yellow outlines for ‘great,’ but when I zoom in to see bottom, features or specific islands – the outlines in that area change to purple for ‘fair.’ How do I know if the algorithm is picking ‘great,’ ‘good,’ or ‘fair?’ (makes me wonder if the algorithm is dependent on the amount of area in screen) Thanks for the help.
Hi Rick. We’re still tweaking the algorithm for smart spots. We just pushed an update out that will improve this experience. The closer zoom levels will be the most accurate until we have it fine tuned.
I have noticed that most all info is coming from Florida. I live in Texas in the middle coast area and really see no info for here. Is there any info in prior cast.
Hey Harry, this software works the same for Texas as it does Florida as it does South Carolina. We have the same type of intel for all states. What specific info are you looking for? If it’s the actual “smart spots” do know that those are being added in every week (so the system keeps getting smarter every day).

I’m a technology challenged. Much of this is more advanced than I can navigate. Find myself going into community and using the older tide and strike charts.

Does the fishing app predict and work in the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland?
We do not yet have Smart Spots loaded in Maryland (Virginia is currently the northernmost state with this new feature).
But we are planning to add spots for Maryland within the next few months.
