Beach Cart Review: Fish’N Mate Jr. Specs & Upgrades

How do you get all of your gear down to the beach?
I used to lug everything down to the water by hand and take several trips, which was a huge pain and time waster.
Finally, I decided to get a beach cart and I’m so glad I did — it saves me a ton of time and hassle, and just makes beach fishing easier.
Now, I’ve been doing a lot of beach fishing tips recently and several people have asked about the cart that I use, so I put together this review.
I use the Fish’N Mate Jr., and in this video, you’ll learn:
- The specs of this beach cart
- The upgrades I made to it to make it easier to use
- Everything you need for a surf fishing trip
- And much more
Enjoy!

Here’s what you need to know about the Fish’N Mate Jr. beach cart:
- It has a ruler sticker on the frame (so you can always know how big the fish you catch are)
- It has an adjustable handle and peg stand
- 14.5″ wide x 38″ long x 9″ tall
- Weight capacity: 17 lbs
- Comes with 5 rod holders
- A bait bucket and cutting board tray are included
- Price: $225-235
Now, one thing you’ll notice is that my cart has huge, bright orange poly tires.
I added these beach tires recently because they’re much easier to pull over sand than the standard pier tires that this cart comes with.
You can learn more about these tires here.
And you can get this cart from Amazon here.
As far as what I put in my beach cart, here’s what I bring on a typical surf fishing trip:
- Rod holders
- Cooler
- Rods
- Bucket for my tackle, pliers, scissors, knife, etc.
I like to keep it simple so that I don’t waste time or energy lugging around things I don’t need.
Conclusion
I’ve enjoyed my Fish’N Mate Jr. beach cart and it’s made beach fishing really simple for me.

Thanks so much for the info. 🤓
Great video but dude but please can you slow down speaking unless you’re being timed to see how fast you can tell the story, geez!
Way too fast, please slow it down, sounds like a used car saleman trying to make a sale!
Is the cart available in the salt strong shop?
As of right now, we do not stock any Beach Fishing carts.
Bummer maybe you can talk to Joe and Luke about that.
That is a sweet little setup! Definately an improvement with the beach tires. A little pricey for me as I don’t do enough surf fishing but thats a pretty cool setup if you do.
Thanks Robert! For as much as I surf fish, having this cart really makes a difference. It reduces the headache of armfulls of gear and increases the speed of getting to my spots and moving around if I need to. That alone makes surf fishing more enjoyable!
Cool cart! Say, where did you find this? I live in Texas and I mainly fish jetties, Coastal marshes, and beaches. That would be a big help.
I purchased mine at a local tackle shop but I know that you can buy directly from Fish’N Mate or purchase through Amazon. These are a must-have if you’re hauling gear over long stretches of beach and are worth every penny.
Thanks. I will take it into consideration!
