Top Lure For Spooky Snook & Redfish In Skinny Water

The other day we were fishing in an area with calm, clear, shallow water.
It’s a popular spot that’s been getting hammered by weekend warriors and fishing guides throwing live and cut bait.
Most anglers wouldn’t even think of throwing artificial lures here, and to be honest, in most cases, that’s a good choice.
These fish are smart and spooky, and lures that work well in other areas would actually scare off the fish here.
Lures like topwater lures, twitch baits, and even paddletails are usually too flashy or give off too much noise and vibration for fish in this situation.
However, there is one lure that works really well for spooky redfish and snook in calm, clear water.
See what it is and how to use in the video below.

Jerk shads, like the Alabama Leprechaun, rigged on a weighted swimbait hook are perfect for when the fish are spooky and conditions are clear.
They have great action underwater to entice fish to strike, but are quiet enough to not scare them off or let them know something is wrong.
And when you’re rigging them, rig them weedless on a swimbait hook because the fish holding to tight to structure in these situations.
Dig the hook just under the surface of the lure and that will help keep it from snagging on rocks, oyster bars, grass, and trees.

Unlike you that fish in clear water that’s virtually non resistant here in northeast fl but have found the color of the leprachauns(how in the world did you come up with that name?) Have been very productive for me for reds and flounder so far but I also put more scent on them with either adding procure inshore scent of pursuing reds or flounder pounder for flounder and insert a rattle close to where the twist lock is inserted securing it in the bait with 1 small drop of locktight supetglue works great with the standard twitch twitch pause retrieve????
Amen brother! The gold is in the lure!! LOL
It has been proving to work very good for even the spookiest fish.
