Virtual Fishing Tournaments (And How To Win Them)

He’s back!

Capt. Patric Garmeson was our guest on the Salt Strong Podcast for episode 60, a guest instructor for our Flounder Mastery course, and now he’s back as a guest on the podcast again.

Capt. Patric has been a busy man since last joining us here…

In the spring of 2019 he set the Alabama state record for biggest sheepshead (see pic below).

Alabama State-Record Sheepshead: 13 pounds, 9 oz.

And now that the Coronavirus has us all locked down, he’s been getting into virtual fishing tournaments with his son.

His son has been especially enjoying these virtual tournaments, and if you’ve ever wanted to enter one, this episode is for you!

Capt. Patric talks about:

  • why fishing tournaments are becoming so popular (and how to win them)
  • how to catch redfish and trout (best lures, baits, types of spots, etc)
  • the biggest mistakes he sees anglers make
  • and much more

Conclusion

I love that online fishing tournaments are helping people stay connected through these tough times.

And especially now that kids aren’t in school, this gives them a fun and competitive thing to do to stay entertained while learning about the outdoors.

Plus, with everyone documenting their catches for these tournaments, it can help them learn more about the fish trends and how to catch them.

Have you fished any virtual tournaments yet?

What did you think?
