How To Catch 24X More Inshore Saltwater Fish (Easy 10-Minute System)

http://smart%20fishing%20spots%20redfish

Do you want to know why you aren’t catching as many inshore saltwater fish as you deserve?

Here’s the truth.

The problem isn’t your rod, reel, electronics, kayak, or boat…

In fact, consistently catching fish has very little to do with your equipment…

The problem is your fishing spots!

In particular, the TYPE of fishing spots you target every trip.

Let me explain.

There was a recent post in our private Insider community from a brand new member who asked this…

“I’m headed down to fish Fort Myers next week. I’ve never fished that area before. Can anyone give me some good spots in Fort Myers for redfish, trout, flounder, and snook?”

The cool part was that our members immediately responded with feedback.

A few even gave him exact spots to check out!

However, do you know why they were most likely WRONG?

Because without knowing the TRENDS in the area for that given day, it’s almost impossible to correctly predict the best spot.

Let me explain.

The CORRECT answer to a question about best fishing spots can ONLY be solved by knowing the following (at a minimum):

  • The wind direction
  • The weather (temp, fronts, pressures, etc)
  • The tides

Without those three pieces of information, any “spot” that someone might give that angler is like throwing darts blindfolded…

Yes, you might hit the board every once in a while, but more often than not, you’re going to get skunked.

It’s why those “Spot Maps” that were so popular back in the 90s rarely helped you catch more fish…

Yes, they pointed you in general fishing catching areas but they didn’t tell you which direction the fish were moving based on the weather, wind, tides, etc…

More or less, the spot maps are nothing but a bunch of static dots on a map…

That’s why the majority of anglers who rely on GPS spots aren’t catching fish every single trip.

However, there is good news…

There’s a better way…

How To Get Tight Lines Every Trip

luke simonds salt strong redfish

Here’s the deal…

If your goal is to get tight lines every SINGLE trip, then this post is for you.

After coaching tens of thousands of inshore saltwater anglers here at Salt Strong, getting “tight lines in less time” seems to be the main outcome for the majority of us.

If you’re anything like me, the goal is not to catch a world record redfish (although that would be awesome).

It’s to make sure you are maximizing your time in feeding zones and feeling tugs on the end of your line every trip!

Especially if you’ve got your kids, family, or friends fishing with you…

Right?

Well, here’s the great news!

It’s not as hard as most anglers think…

In fact, 90% of all feeding fish are located in 10% of any given area.

Let me repeat… 90% of all feeding fish are located in 10% of any given area.

Here at Salt Strong, we call it the 90/10 fishing rule.

This holds true regardless if you are fishing in Texas, Florida, the Carolinas, or anywhere in between.

The even better news is that the 10% zone (where you’ll find 90% of all redfish, speckled trout, snook, and flounder) is very PREDICTABLE.

All you really need to know are the current TRENDS (based on weather, wind, tides, etc).

And once you “get it,” you’ll never focus on “spots” the same way again…

Plus, you’ll start catching fish 24X faster than your friends…

The Easy 10-Minute “Smart Spots” Fishing System

salt strong trout

The other important thing we’ve learned after coaching tens of thousands of anglers is that we are all super busy!

We want shortcuts.

And we want them fast!

So over the past year, we’ve been testing and perfecting a 10-minute system that will literally show you the type of spot go fishing in your area (in all four seasons… even after nasty fronts…)

It really is that simple.

Here’s how it works:

You watch the 10-minute video Friday morning.

You look at the types of spots we are showing you on the map.

You apply the intel to your area.

Then you hit the water and catch more fish and have tons of tight lines.

This is the same system that guys like Luke and Tony have been using for the past 2 years (so if you’re wondering how they always seem to catch slams almost every trip, this is the answer)!

In fact, we recently decided to take the camera out (on a really tough day where hardly anyone else was fishing) to prove how easy this works.

And we did it on a nasty day that most anglers wouldn’t even fish.

  • Super windy (approaching 20 miles per hour winds)
  • Rainstorms around us
  • Cold front coming through
  • A sub-6 Strike Score (from www.smartfishingtides.com)

Yes, as you will see, even with all of the adverse conditions (and having to consciously talk the entire time into the camera), we still had a bunch of tight lines.

And yes, some of you might say that we didn’t catch any massive fish…

True.

But this was just one uncut and unedited hour of fishing (and even I finally landed a snook).

And you’ll notice that right off the bat we get some strikes.

That’s 100% because we used TRENDS to put ourselves in the feeding zone.

Also, at the very end a boat keeps getting closer to us… wait until you see what happens!

Enjoy.

Hey guys, this was one of your best podcasts. Really like being on the boat with you, watching you fish, listening to all the topics covered. Definitely make more podcasts like this. See y’all on the 25th!

Luke and Joe
I really enjoyed that video. Actually watching you guys fish– the way you maneuver the boat, the proximity to the docks, the actual lure retrieve– its all very helpful.
Luke — you mentioned at one point that there was not much current. And I remember you saying that when you have less current and the water is shielded from wind, you might consider going to a split tail jerk bait? I know the trout were deeper, did you ever consider making the change to a split tail jerk bait on this trip? If not, why not?
Thanks again, it was great.

Was it me or could you guys not hear Luke well?

Excellent guys. Real time videos like this are way more informative. Watching cast after cast may be boring to some, but there is a lot to be gained in techniques of different anglers. This kind of stuff is why I am a member and I fish 99% offshore. Keep up the hard work and continued success.

I’m not aware of latest apparel. Do the SaltStrong Aapko shorts have hidden rod butt protection? Where could I find out more about the features of the new clothing? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

The new shorts have an extra pocket for holding pliers, but I don’t believe that they have anything for rod butt protection. Here’s a link to the shorts where you can learn more: https://saltstronggear.com/collections/all-clothing/products/tactical-short-bottoms?variant=30318200815650

Really enjoyed this unedited video/podcast. Lots of info visually and audibly. The Slam Shady has become my go to in every season and conditions. Landed a lot of trout and a flounder on New Year’s day here in Charleston, using the 3″ Shady in much the same conditions that you were filming in.
Great job. Keep it up.
