I’ve recently been fishing the Chasebaits FLICK PRAWN and the smaller version, the SMASH PRAWN.
I’ve really enjoyed using these lures and think they have a lot to offer inshore anglers. The different sizes allow you to fish these lures in whatever inshore fishery you’d like.
On top of that, they’re some of the most realistic looking and moving shrimp lures I’ve used.
Chasebaits definitely put in a lot of effort to make these great lures.
The attention to detail — such as having the lure stand straight up when it sits on the bottom or the fact that there is an incorporated rattle in each one — is what sets the lures apart from your average shrimp lure.
There are some drawbacks to these lures, however, and I want to make sure I give as accurate a picture of how these lures perform as possible.

The Chasebaits FLICK PRAWN And SMASH PRAWN Packs
Each Chasebaits FLICK PRAWN and SMASH PRAWN pack comes with one artificial shrimp and a specialty weighted hook.
FLICK PRAWN Specs (the bigger of the two lures):
LENGTH: 4.92”
HOOK SIZE: 7/0 with 8 gm lead weight
LENGTH: 3.74”
HOOK SIZE: 3/0 with 4 gm lead weight
The price range for these lures is about $10-15 per lure.

the smash crab 2 the hook looks big for sheephead ? how are you rigging the line the set up? hank you
The smash crab is definitely too big for sheepshead. The Crusty Crab is what many people use for sheepshead with some pro-cure scent on it. It is much smaller (the size of a fiddler crab). If fishing pilings, you can rig them like a carolina rig (weight below the lure). If fishing shallow flats I just rig them like a normal lure on my leader with a loop knot.
What about using a razor blade to further segment the tail for increased action.

Thats a tough one, but if I had to choose one shrimp to use, it would probably be the Zman EZ Shrimp. They’re very durable, have great action, can be rigged the way they come, or you can rig them weedless on a regular hook. Much more versatile than many of the other pre-rigged shrimp I have seen.
